Site foreman

Due to further projects coming on line, my client a well-known and respected contractor is looking to recruit an additional Foreman. The successful applicant will be working for the Construction Division of this multi office organisation.

As Foreman your role will be divided between, managing the onsite operations, completing the necessary paperwork and attending meetings and when not in the office the foreman is also expected to roll their sleeves up and return to the tools helping the trades on-site.

The successful applicant should have the relevant trade experience coupled with Man-management and communication skills enabling them to oversee a project with a typical value up to £500K.

You should have a CSCS qualification, ideally SSSTS OR SMSTS qualification and be able to supply good references 

Contracts Manager


£41K + Package & Bonus

Due to an increasing order book, my client is now looking to recruit an additional Contracts Manager to join this successful Organisation. Based in Cheltenham they undertake projects throughout Gloucestershire and the immediate vicinity, with repeat works coming on stream this is an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to take owner ship and continue to drive this Division forward.

The successful candidate should have a strong commercial acumen, able to demonstrate a strong managerial record of running a variety of profitable and successful contracts, bringing them in on time and budget. The Client are involved in a variety of new build & refurbishment projects as well as several on-going projects, covering planned maintenance cyclical refurbishment works.

Service Engineer - Compressed Air & Pneumatics


Starting £23,000 + Package rising to £30,000

Due to an increasing order book, my Client, a small independent company are looking to recruit an additional Service Engineer to join their expanding team. You should be a trained Mechanical engineer, ideally with experience in compressors and compressed air, however an aptitude to learn and forward your career will stand you in good stead.  You should have good communication skills as you will be customer facing, smart/presentable and hold a current driving licence.

As the majority of Clients are within 30 miles of their Worcester Head office, you will return home each day, however you may (very occasionally) be required to stay away if the project dictates it, with the Company covering costs. Your role will involve you visiting customers premises to carry out scheduled servicing/maintenance as well as emergency repairs to the equipment.

In return the successful candidate will receive a starting salary of £23K raising after qualifying period to circa £30K, Company van & Branded Clothing, 25 days holidays (+ Stats), pension & possible Bonus.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Estimator

This expanding contractor is looking to employ an additional team member, so if you are looking for your next career move please contact me.

Working within the commercial team you will be responsible for commercial management of small-medium size projects & measured term contracts. You will estimate small & medium size projects, negotiating orders with sub-contractors & suppliers. Typically working on projects with a value between £50 and £1million (dependant on experience). You should be able to demonstrate excellent financial project management skills, a strong commercial acumen, great customer service and communication skills and above all that you are a team player. Familiarity with Microsoft, project management and financial management software is a must.

This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic growing construction company whose focus is customer service and delivering quality projects on time and on budget.

There is definite scope to grow with the company into a more senior role. In return you be offered a salary of between £25K & £28K plus package, however this is open to negotiation, should the suitable candidate command slightly higher

  • Sound & comprehensive understanding of construction industry and the parties to it.

  • Good knowledge of measurement and valuation of measured term contracts and small construction projects.

  • Proficient in reading drawings, specifications, contracts and programmes.

  • Ability to undertake take offs on small and medium sized works.

  • Produce packages to send out to subcontractors & suppliers for accurate tenders.

  • Attend site meetings and visit sites as necessary to produce quotations and assistant with management. (driving licence is a must).

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages e.g. Excel, Word & PowerPoint. Microsoft project & conquest would be beneficial however not essential.

  • Assist with preconstruction set up, including programming and procuring subcontractors and materials.

SHEQ Advisor


£45,000 - £50,000 + Package DoE

My Client a major player in the M&E sector are looking for an additional SHEQ Advisor to join their expanding team. The successful candidate should have an electrical back ground ideally with an electrical qualification and be Grad IOSH or near to completion level.

The role will include offering the correct expert advice to staff and subcontractors alike, including carrying out site visits and audits as per the action plans and making sure recommendations for safe working are implemented and adhered to. The successful candidate must be able to provide a stable employment history, having gained experience with a similar organisation and be able to back this up with good references.


The role will be site based across London and the South East of England.


Below is a brief but not definitive outline of the role:

Working alongside the existing SHEQ Advisors.

Responsible for between 2 and 5 projects

Week inspection to all responsible sites.

We use the Yellowjacket Software system across our business for inspection, audits, reports, incident investigation, observations etc.

Reviewing RAMS for project teams.

Incident Investigation

Writing Specific Tool Box Talks and presenting.

Working with our project teams to provide advice and support for any related issues arising on sites.

Organising appropriate training course where required.

Working with our Supply Chain to improve their H&S where required.

Assistance with ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 standards including Auditing.

Further training on Environmental and Quality sectors will be provided where necessary.


Salary would be £45-50k per annum depending on experience.

The package includes;

25 Days Holiday per annum

Zone 1-4 travelcard expense each week. Any additional costs to sites outside zone 4 will be fully reimbursed.

Accounts Department - Team Leader


Salary up to £30K + Package Depending on Experience

My Client, an expanding local Building Company are looking to recruit a Team Leader to oversee the team in their busy accounts department.

The responsibilities will include, but NOT limited to:

  • Leading & developing the team, currently 2 staff

  • Engaging with Management of various Divisions/subsidiaries

  • Group/Divisional Purchases, including: expenses & Capital acquisitions processing

  • Subcontractor Maintenance, Invoice processing, agency time sheets, CIS statements & end of period updates

  • Nominal Ledger, Revenue/capital allocations, accruals/prepayments & nominal journals

  • Insurance, claims processing, Broker selection, processing/allocating annual policy invoices & reviews

  • All aspects of payroll for weekly employees & Monthly staff, Starters & leavers processing (P45 & P60), PAYE /NI summaries, Pension Contributions

  • Monthly, Quarterly and half yearly accounting and forecasting, asset schedules and depreciation calculations, Corporation tax payments & annual returns/confirmation statements

  • Quarterly VAT reports & reconciliations, complete VAT returns & submission to HMRC

  • Daily Monitoring of bank balance sheets and general transaction processing

The successful candidate will need to have an excellent understanding of Company accounting, although doesn’t need to be fully qualified as support by way of a Consultant is available.
